Getting Your Ternmap Online
Your Ternmap needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to receive current surf conditions.
Initial Setup
- 1Plug your Ternmap into power.
- 2Wait for all three lights at the first surf break to turn blue. This can take a few minutes. You may see a single purple light first while the map tries to find Wi-Fi.
- 3Open the Wi-Fi settings on your phone or computer.
- 4Look for a network called Tern Maps Setup.
- 5Connect to that network.
- 6A setup page should open automatically in your browser.
- 7Select your home Wi-Fi network.
- 8Enter your Wi-Fi password.
- 9Give the map a moment to connect.
If your map has no saved Wi-Fi network, Tern Maps Setup appears right away. If it already has one saved, including a network used during production, the map may show a single purple light while it tries to connect before setup becomes available.
Once setup is complete, your Ternmap remembers the network and will connect automatically whenever it is powered on. You do not need an app for normal use.
