Ternmaps creates handcrafted connected surf maps that display current surf conditions through embedded LEDs.

Ternmaps products are built in Charleston, South Carolina and sold in limited production batches.

We make reasonable efforts to accurately display and describe our products, including their:

• Dimensions
• Features
• Materials
• Surf locations
• Pricing
• Availability

Because Ternmaps are handmade using natural wood, individual products will vary.

Variations in wood grain, knots, color, texture, wood burning, and other handmade characteristics are normal and are not considered defects.

Ternmaps displays information intended to provide a convenient visual indication of current surf conditions.

Surf and ocean conditions can change rapidly.

Information displayed by a Ternmap:

• May be delayed
• May be incomplete
• May occasionally be unavailable
• May differ from conditions actually experienced at a surf break

Ternmaps should not be used as your sole source for making safety decisions involving surfing, swimming, boating, weather, tides, storms, or ocean conditions.

Always evaluate actual local conditions and use appropriate judgment before entering the water.

LED colors and size indicators represent Ternmaps' interpretation of available surf-condition information.

They do not guarantee that:

• A surf break will be safe
• Waves will be a particular size
• Conditions will match an individual surfer's preferences
• Conditions will remain the same after an update

Terms such as “Bad,” “Okay,” “Good,” and “Perfect” describe the Ternmaps rating system and are not guarantees regarding actual surfing conditions.

Ternmaps requires:

• Electrical power
• Internet access
• A compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
• Access to Ternmaps online services

Product functionality may be interrupted by circumstances including:

• Home Wi-Fi outages
• Internet outages
• Hosting or infrastructure problems
• Maintenance
• Software updates
• Third-party service interruptions
• Changes to external data availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep Ternmaps services operating but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Ternmaps products include software necessary for connected functionality.

Ternmaps may provide over-the-air updates to:

• Maintain functionality
• Fix problems
• Improve performance
• Improve security
• Add or modify features

Product functionality may evolve through these updates.

Ternmaps may use information derived from publicly or commercially available third-party sources when determining current surf conditions.

Availability and characteristics of those sources may change.

Ternmaps does not guarantee the continued availability of any particular external data provider.

Orders are subject to product availability and acceptance.

Payment is processed through Shopify and applicable payment providers.

We may cancel or refund an order when necessary because of:

• Inventory errors
• Pricing errors
• Suspected fraud
• Payment problems
• Technical errors
• Other circumstances that prevent fulfillment

If an order is canceled after payment has been collected, the applicable amount will be refunded.

Ternmaps products may be released in limited drops.

Adding a product to a cart does not necessarily reserve inventory unless the checkout system specifically indicates otherwise.

A product may become unavailable before checkout is completed.

Prices displayed on the website may change at any time before an order is placed.

Applicable taxes and shipping charges, where required, will be shown during checkout.

Changes in pricing do not affect previously completed purchases.

Shipping, cancellations, and returns are governed by the current Shipping & Returns Policy available on ternmaps.surf.

Ternmaps products include the warranty described in the current Ternmaps One-Year Warranty.

The warranty terms posted at the time of purchase apply to that purchase unless otherwise required by law.

We want customers to be able to understand and interact with their Ternmaps.

However, opening, modifying, repairing, rewiring, or altering the product can create risks or cause damage.

Contact Ternmaps before attempting a hardware modification or repair.

Damage caused by unauthorized modifications may not be covered by the warranty.

The Ternmaps name, branding, website design, product designs, software, graphics, photography, written content, and other original materials are owned by Ternmaps or used with permission.

You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, copy, or commercially exploit Ternmaps content or software without permission.

Purchasing a Ternmaps product does not transfer ownership of Ternmaps software, branding, or intellectual property.

You may not use the Ternmaps website or services to:

• Violate applicable law
• Attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts
• Interfere with website or service operation
• Introduce malicious software
• Scrape or harvest information in a manner that disrupts the service
• Attempt to bypass security measures
• Misrepresent yourself or another person

The Ternmaps website and products may rely on third-party services such as Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, hosting providers, internet services, and data sources.

Those services may have their own terms and policies.

Ternmaps is not responsible for circumstances entirely outside its reasonable control involving independent third-party services.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ternmaps will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from the use or inability to use the website, connected services, or Ternmaps products.

Ternmaps is not responsible for injuries, property damage, or other losses resulting from decisions made based on surf-condition information displayed by a Ternmap.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree not to hold Ternmaps responsible for claims arising from your misuse of the website, connected services, or products, or from your violation of these Terms.

Use of personal information is governed by the Ternmaps Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms as our products, services, or business change.

Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Changes will apply prospectively unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Finalize before publishing: Confirm your business entity and preferred governing-law language. If Ternmaps is organized and operating in South Carolina, this will commonly reference South Carolina law.
